Frequently Asked Questions
My child is struggling in multiple subjects. Can you help with more than one?
Yes. Many middle school students work on two subjects — commonly math and reading/ELA. You can add subjects to your plan at checkout, or contact us to discuss the best approach for your child’s needs.
Will tutoring help my child prepare for high school admissions tests?
Academic tutoring builds the foundational reading, math, and critical thinking skills that admissions tests like the Academic Center exam and HSAT/HSPT measure. Many families start tutoring 6–12 months before testing season, then transition to focused test prep.
Will the tutor follow what my child is learning in school?
Yes. Sessions are aligned to your child’s classroom curriculum and state standards. If your child has a test coming up or is struggling with a specific unit, the tutor adjusts the session to support exactly what’s happening in the classroom.
How will I know my child is making progress?
Every student starts with a diagnostic assessment that establishes a baseline. You’ll receive detailed progress reports tracking specific milestones. Our team also communicates directly with you about your child’s growth and any adjustments to the learning plan.
What device does my child need?
A tablet or laptop with a camera and microphone, plus Zoom installed. A quiet space with stable internet is ideal. That’s it — we handle everything else.
When are sessions available?
Sessions are available Monday through Sunday, during school hours, after school, and evenings — including summer months. Daytime sessions are popular with homeschool families. We’ll match your child with a tutor who fits your family’s schedule.
