HIGH SCHOOL TUTORING

Virtual Tutoring for High School Students

(9th–12th Grade)

The Critical Thinking Child provides one-on-one virtual tutoring for 9th through 12th graders in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, AP calculus courses, ELA, and Spanish. Every student starts with a diagnostic assessment so their tutor knows exactly where to focus — and every 55-minute session is built around your student’s coursework, pace, and goals.

Every new student starts with a diagnostic assessment — so we know exactly where to begin.

Thinking About College Admissions?

Strong grades in core subjects are the foundation of every college application. Academic tutoring in math, ELA, and AP calculus courses strengthens your student’s GPA while building the critical thinking and writing skills that ACT and SAT exams measure.

Many families pair ongoing academic tutoring with focused test prep as testing season approaches. Start with our diagnostic assessment to see where your student stands.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you help with AP calculus courses?

Yes. Our tutors support students in AP coursework including content review, homework help, and exam preparation. If your student is struggling to keep up with the pace of an AP class, tutoring can provide the targeted support they need to stay on track and perform well on exams.

My student needs help in multiple subjects. Can you help with more than one?

Yes. Many high school students work on two subjects — commonly math and ELA. You can add subjects to your plan at checkout, or contact us to discuss the best approach for your student’s needs.

Will tutoring help my student prepare for the ACT or SAT?

Academic tutoring strengthens the foundational math, reading, and writing skills that the ACT and SAT measure. Many families pair ongoing tutoring with focused test prep as testing season approaches. We offer dedicated Enhanced ACT and Digital SAT prep programs separately.

How will I know my student is making progress?

Every student starts with a diagnostic assessment that establishes a baseline. You’ll receive detailed progress reports tracking specific milestones. Our team also communicates directly with you about your student’s growth and any adjustments to the learning plan.

What device does my child need?

A tablet or laptop with a camera and microphone, plus Zoom installed. A quiet space with stable internet is ideal. That’s it — we handle everything else.

When are sessions available?

Sessions are available Monday through Sunday, during school hours, after school, and evenings — including summer months. Daytime sessions are popular with homeschool families. We’ll match your child with a tutor who fits your family’s schedule.
